Embarkment

Scanner, Operator, and Suppressor Augments

Three augments comprise the main mechanics of this dungeon, those being the (Viral) Operator, Scanner and Suppressor. These appear in DSC too, but some work differently. The key difference between buffs here and in DSC is that these are “Viral” augments which will kill the player with the buff after a timer there, thus, to negate this timer, the player can dunk and pick the buff up again from an available terminal.

  1. Operator:
    • Can shoot glowing red panels (same as DSC).
  2. Scanner:
    • Able to point out the correct item to interact with, be it boss or panel.
    • Different from DSC. To see if a panel is correct, the scanner goes close to the item to be scanned, marked by a yellow hexagon on the radar.
      • If the yellow hexagon turns white (with an audio cue), that item is correct.
      • If the yellow hexagon disappears (with an audio cue), that item is wrong.
  3. Supressor:
    • Able to “suppress” the boss, be it dismantling the 1st boss or removing radiation bubbles from copies of the 2nd boss.
    • This is done by pressing the grenade button, which drops a blue clone. Destroying this blue clone while the boss is within its radius will cause the relevant effect to occur on the boss (ie Suppressing the boss).

These buffs are obtained from either a Deposit Terminal (familiar to those who've done Seraph Shield/DSC) or a Viral Host (a vandal with a buff, killing him to be able to pick the buff up).

Outside the station, on a walkway, you will enter the dungeon. Enter the spacious chamber filled with containers by moving forward along the corridor. Fallen enemies will start to come out of the doors on either side of the chamber, two of which will be equipped with the Scanner and Operator augments. To check the four panels that are placed throughout the room, grab the Scanner agent. It will be necessary for another player with the Operator augment to shoot three of them since they will turn white on your radar. Shooting the wrong one will kill you. The door at the rear of the room will open after the operator fires the three correct panels. Go through it and continue on the way to the first encounter.

...

Activation

You will find yourself in a vast room with a bizarre circular structure in the distance. The chamber is surrounded by four doors and has a big spherical object close to the back. We do not need to worry about that right now because the right back door is the exit. As part of the encounter, we will need to visit the distinct rooms that are accessible through the other three doors: front right, front left, and back left. The objective is straightforward: we must retrieve a nuclear core from each of the three side rooms because there are three nuclear core dumps at the rear of the room. Start the encounter by interacting with the “system reboot” prompt in the middle of the room. This summons a Brig and ad spawns, thus starting the encounter.

Kill the Brig to summon the Viral Host which will be holding the scanner buff. Kill this enemy to pick the scanner up. Your team should then head into one of the 3 side rooms.

In these side rooms, they kill all the ads, including 2 invisible minibosses. This will open a door at the end of the side room, allowing further progress into the side room. The side room will open up into a larger room with panels. Ads will spawn in this room as well, including a Viral Host with the operator buff.

The scanner, in this newly opened-up room, has to go around scanning the 6 panels around the room, discerning which 4 are correct (will go from yellow to white on the radar) and calling these 4 out to the operator. The operator will then shoot these 4 panels. Doing so will spawn a nuclear core.

...
...

Nuclear cores have a 1-minute timer which ticks down when not being held by a player. Letting the nuclear core timer run out will trigger a small detonation around the core, killing any players near it (keep in mind it's different from DSC where the entire team wipes). Holding a nuclear core gives players stacks of radiation. You die at 10 stacks. The core can be dropped, or picked up from you by another player. This nuclear core should be picked up and brought to the center room, where there will now be another Brig waiting for you. Take note of Duskfield shanks along the way back to the center room, as they may hinder your movement. Kill the Brig in the middle to open the dunk spots at the back of the room where you will dunk in one of the 3 available dunk spots.

Repeat for the remaining 2 rooms, going into the rooms, clearing ads, calling out panels as scanner and shooting the called out panels as operator and bringing the core back and dunking it. Once all 3 nukes from the 3 rooms are dunked, the encounter is over.

Tip: You can duplicate the nuclear core with a bit of effort and immediately dunk all 3 of them to clear the encounter without going to the other 2 rooms.

...

Infiltration

In order to complete this encounter, you must gather additional nuclear cores and deposit them in a specific order. Once you arrive in the room with the servitor, you will notice that the doors can be opened or closed, depending on how many “power reserves” you have.

  • Opening a metal door costs 1 reserve, and closing it returns 1 reserve.
  • Opening an arc door returns 1 reserve, and closing it costs 1 reserve.

The boss (large servitor which you can't damage) has 3 attacks:

  1. Standard Servitor void attack.
  2. Throwing exploding balls at you (these do a lot of solar damage).
  3. Integration
    • If the player is within the boss's line of sight, the player receives a debuff called “Integration” with a 4-second timer. If this timer runs out, the player dies. Thus, the player must break line of sight with the boss to get rid of Integration.

Navigate through the area, opening and closing doors, while looking for Fallen Captains which, when killed, drop nukes. These nukes should be dunked in order, meaning the first nuke goes into the deposit box with a “1” on top, then the next nuke to “2”, all the way to 5. Once the last nuke is dunked, run past the boss, drop through the hole in the floor and head to the 2nd encounter. You can refer to the following map for guidance:

Raneiks Unified

Recommended Loadouts and Weapons:
  • Weapons:
    • Wardcliff Coil
    • Parasite
    • Salvation's Grip
  • Warlocks: Well of Radiance + Lunafaction Boots
  • Titans: Glacial Quake + Synthoceps / Hoarfrost-Z / Icefall Mantle
  • Hunter: Shadowshot Deadfall Tether + Orphius Rig

Augments Present: Operator, Suppressor

The objective of the encounter is to kill the boss, Raneiks United. The boss is actually just a bunch of servitors lumped up in a large mass to form a very large servitor. The encounter is split into a pre-damage phase and a damage phase, which repeat until the boss dies.

Pre DPS Phase

Begin the encounter by going into the middle area. Ads will spawn, one of which will be a Viral Host, a shank with the Operator buff. Acquire the buff, but dunk it in the terminal for now. It will be relevant later.

Continue clearing ads until a Machine Priest (Miniboss) spawns. Kill him, and the boss will teleport you to a flat area with boxes near you, and the boss itself at the back, opposite of where you spawned. Kill all the shanks and exploder shanks which spawn, being cautious of the boss's attacks, and the Viral Host (with Suppressor) will spawn. Kill the viral host to acquire Suppressor buff.

Your grenade button will now be changed to a new ability. Activating your grenade now will deploy a clone on your location. Deploy a clone near the boss and shoot it. Doing so dismantles the boss into its constituent servants, which will all be named “Raneiks” with numbers 0 through 9 (Raneiks-1, Raneiks-2 etc). Of the Servitors which appear, 2 of them will be glowing particularly blue (see first picture). Note down the numbers attached to these 2 servators, and head through the large door/side door to fall back down into the arena from earlier.

Repeat the process, clearing ads (no need to kill a viral host with the operator as the operator is already in the dunk spot) until the Machine Priest spawns, and killing the machine priest to be teleported and suppressing the boss to get another 2 numbers. Once the process is done twice, and the team has 4 numbers from the glowing servators, this is where the Operator comes in.

The Operator should pick their buff up from the terminal, and shoot the 4 panels at the front of the arena which correspond to the 4 numbers acquired from suppressing the boss earlier (see second picture). Once this is done, enemies the despawn and the damage phase starts. The operator should immediately dunk their buff back into the terminal to ensure they do not have to worry about its timer during damage.

... ...

DPS Phase

...

The boss will teleport down to the middle of the arena, and a Viral Host shank with a suppressor will spawn in the middle of the arena as well. Kill the Viral Host and acquire the suppressor buff. Suppress the boss to split it up into the smaller servators again, and this begins the damage phase. This should be done quickly as the damage phase timer starts ticking down the moment the boss appears.

The damage window is fairly short, so weapons like the parasites are useful. As the servators count as vehicles, the Wardcliff Coil is a great damage option as well. Glacial Quake with Synthoceps on Titan is good as well. Whatever the damage option, attack the mass of servators in front of you until the damage phase ends. Rinse and repeat until the boss dies.

The Corrupted Puppeteer

Recommended Loadouts and Weapons:
  • Weapons:
    • Grand Overture
    • Thunderlord
    • Whisper of the Worm
    • Anarchy
  • Warlocks: Well of Radiance + Saguine Alchemy
  • Titans:
    • Thundercrash + Cuirass of the Falling Star
    • Twilight Arsenal + Heart of Inmost Light / Synthoceps (For ad-clear)
  • Hunter: Precision Golden Gun + Celestial Nighthawk (Good synergy with Still Hunt exotic sniper)

Pre DPS Phase Part 1

Begin by approaching the white ball at the back of the room, which summons the boss. A Viral Host (Suppressor) will spawn, alongside 2 Broken Puppets. These Broken Puppets will emit a bubble of radiation around them so avoid them as much as possible. The suppressor should suppress, disarm and (not necessarily just the Suppressor) kill the puppets. Doing so allows the Viral Host with the Scanner to spawn.

The scanner's job here will be to go up to and scan 4 pillars with numbers 1-4 attached to them IN BLUE. Whichever one is marked on your radar, is the number that the Operator needs to shoot. Call out the blue number on the correct pillar, then you can dunk your buff in the terminal as your job up here is done.

Kill more boss clones and ads and the Operator Viral Host will spawn. Kill it to acquire the Operator. The Operatorls job will be to shoot all panels with RED NUMBERS with the number called out by the scanner. There will be 4 panels for each number 1-4 (ie 4 panels with a red “1”, 4 panels with a red “2”...). Thus, the Operator must shoot all 4 to cause the boss to “retreat”. The operator and suppressor should also dunk their buffs into the terminals so that they do not lose them or die.

...Supressors remove the immunity and radiation globes from the Broken Puppets.
...Scanners search for the correct blue number on the wall. Look at your radar.
...Operators shoot 4 red panels of the same number called out by the Scanner.

Pre DPS Phase Part 2

Between the left and right sides of the room, one side will now have red flashing lights, indicating that this side is the side the team should drop to. The team have to drop the elevator shafts on this side, ensuring that any augments previously had been dunked (any augments held when going down will be removed, causing the team to have to look for another Viral Host, which is troublesome). Once down, follow the red flashing lights on top of the doorways, making sure to watch out for Broken Puppets and their radiation bubbles, until you enter a large room with multiple boss clones without radiation bubbles. In these rooms, there will be terminals with all 3 buffs. The players will then get their buffs and do their jobs:

  • Operator: There will be 4 panels which glow red around the entire room. Shoot all 4, then deposit your buff back in the terminal. Once all 4 panels are shot, a wipe timer for 40 seconds for the Clean Sweep Protocol starts.
  • Suppressor: Same as before; disarms Radiation Clones. Note that the large clones without radiation bubbles won't be affected as there's no point even suppressing them. Having the suppressor is entirely optional in these rooms; it is just helpful if the radiation clones are causing trouble.
  • Scanner: Only once the operator is done, go close to the large clones which do not have radiation bubbles around them. These clones correspond to a hexagon on the radar, and of the 4 clones which can be scanned, only one will be correct and turn the yellow hexagon white. Call out this clone and, together with your team, kill it.

Killing this correct clone will drop a nuclear core, which should be brought to a bunker in the middle of the room. Take note to put all buffs back in the terminals before entering the bunker, as bringing a buff into the bunker removes it, causing the team to have to find another viral host, which is, again, troublesome. Dunk the nuclear core in the dunk spot in the bunker before your wipe timer runs out, and once the entire team is in the bunker. Dunking causes the room to be set on fire, and this will kill all the clones outside this room, keeping those in the bunker safe, and more importantly, deplete 50% of the boss's shield.

Once the doors of the bunker open again, a door leading to a dark hallway with trip mines will open. Navigate through this hallway to the next room. You can choose to either disarm the mines and move through them slowly or just rush through them. Radiation clones will spawn throughout and chase you down, giving you radiation and possibly killing you. Thus, teams may consider acquiring the suppressor to remove the radiation from these clones, making the process less painful. Head through the hallway, and eventually you will reach another room with multiple large boss clones without radiation. Repeat the actions in the previous room (the operator shoots 4 panels, the scanner calls out the correct clone and kills it to nuke, then dunk nuke in the bunker), noting that this time, it is not necessary to dunk buffs before entering the bunker, since the buffs will not be needed after that.

...Follow the flashing red lights to the next room. Avoid trip mines and radiation bubbles.
...Scanners search for the correct clone to kill and pick up a nuclear core. Note that if you kill the wrong boss puppet copy, the purge timer will drop down to five seconds, which almost guarantees a wipe.
...Deposit the nuclear core in the center bunker of the room. Make sure you have deposited your augments and everyone is in the room before the timer reaches zero.

Once the nuke is dunked in this second room, the remaining 50% of the boss's shield is removed, indicating that it is time for DPS. Head through the door you came from, and you will find a teleporter to bring you back to the spawn area. However, now the large door behind you previously will be open to reveal an elevator. Once the entire team is in the elevator, you will be brought up to the damaged platform.

DPS Phase

Once up on the platform, you damage the boss. Meteors will fall throughout, leaving residual arc damage on the floor which will damage you. Thus, players can either keep moving around, avoiding attacks or stand on small platforms (like the pipe at the front right) to avoid these attacks. (do note that if you stand on the pipe you can still be hit by the meteors, so just jump upwards once you see your screen turning really orange).

The boss will be on the platforms at the back, along with many clones of platform. Shoot the boss while it summons more clones which can jump off the platform to the area that you are in. One of these clones will drop a nuclear core. Do not pick it up yet.

...
...

Eventually, a message will appear which saying “The Corrupted Puppeteer communes with the Anomaly”. When this happens, take the nuclear core and bring it to the bunker at the left of the arena. The door will open, allowing you and your team to enter and dunk the core. This is to avoid the boss's wipe mechanic, which is a wave of energy which travels across the entire battlefield, killing any player it touches.

Once the wave has passed, it returns to damage the boss. Do this until the boss “communes with the Anomaly” again. This time, go back down into the elevator shaft instead of the bunker, as there is no core which spawns. Once down in the elevator shaft and the wipe wave has passed (you will be safe down in the elevator), the door to the elevator will open again, bringing you to the spawn area from which you will rinse and repeat the mechanics until the boss dies.

Congratulations, you have completed the Vesper's Host Dungeon!

Tips:
  • Send 1 player to disarm the mines, and if they encounter radiation clones, they should run back to the team, luring the radiation clone with them to have it disarmed.
  • Stand on the left pipe during DPS to avoid most lightning strikes.
